The Economic Development Department supports and serves existing businesses through:

  • Business Retention visits to better understand and assist our current businesses with their needs and concerns
  • The Regional Investors Summit brings together our regional business leaders, brokers, elected officials and more for updates on the current economic climate of our area
  • The Employer of the Year Awards recognizes our outstanding businesses in categories such as Service, Manufacturing and Industrial, Retail and the Outstanding Community Service “Jack Heck” Award
  • Quarterly Mayor’s Power Breakfast with the Mayor and Economic Development staff to better understand the needs of our business community

The Economic Development Department markets and promotes our businesses’ success through a variety of videos and social media:  

  • Electronic Newsletter—Our bi-monthly newsletter is sent to over 3000 subscribers
  • Discover St. Charles—Informational programs about the department and its projects
  • Check Out St. Charles—Economic Development staff interviews local businesses and identifies latest industry trends; videos are shown on the local Cable TV station
